Teaching Methods
We are very specific in the way we instruct. We understand that it takes time and mindful repetitions in order to change motor skills. Therefore, we train players to understand concepts so that they can self-coach in a practice environment. Our method is a very fast and fun way to learn and improve.
Here are a few of the somewhat unique aspects of our training:
1. every repetition has a focus and requires feedback
2. skills broken down by game-like mental sequence for retention and gamelike application
3. use of video camera and laptop for immediate feedback (when needed or requested)
4. practice using whole-skill, minimization of non-gamelike repetitions
5. warmup learning volleyball, we are careful not to spend the first 10 minutes just jogging and stretching
We want to be highly technical while enjoying the exercise and the sport. We are positive coaches.
